Are you looking to purchase upholstered headboards? Online browsing is a good way to narrow down your choices before venturing onto the high street.
Also, you may not need to purchase them when you can easily create one yourself. If all else fails though, purchasing upholstered headboards always remains an option! Upholstered headboards don’t seem like a huge deal to anyone, but without them a bedroom can look very incomplete. Headboards can be used for support or just to add general style to your bed. When the headboard is used for support then it would definitely be uncomfortable if it were plain wood, but there are upholstered headboards with inbuilt padding which provides comfort.
Upholstered headboards have been a recent phenomenon and have become very common because of their advantages.
They are especially common with people who enjoy sitting up in bed while watching television or reading. The good news is that you don’t have to go and buy another bed in case your bed doesn’t have an upholstered headboard and you’re in need of one.
All you have to do is follow some simple instructions on how to make your own upholstered headboards.
You will first need to determine whether you want your headboard to stand on two legs behind the bed or for it to just be mounted. The key material would be lumber, a fabric with a color of your choice, and several sheets of foam. The tools you’ll need are staples and a staple gun, a razor blade, scissors, a saw, tacky glue, and a power screw driver with screws.
Take measurements of your bed and then choose your desired height of the finished upholstered headboards. Cut out the main headboard to the desired measurements, then cut out the legs. Make sure the measurements correspond with each other. Once that is done construct the frame and join the pieces of board together with the screw drivers. After the frame is done, cut out the foam and glue it to the board. The size and thickness of the foam depends on your desires.
To complete the upholstered headboards, lay the fabric onto a work table and cut it into dimensions that fit with the headboard then add a few inches all around. Take the headboard and wrap the fabric with it. Fit it tightly around the frame and staple it with the stapler. Apply staples every 2-3 inches on the frame. When it comes to the corners, just fold it like you would a gift box. For a neat finished look, cut any hanging fabric and prop it against the wall. Once satisfied with the look, prop it behind your bed and make sure it fits evenly. You can now enjoy the feel of your new upholstered headboards.
